After seeing off Swansea City and Leicester City in the last two rounds, Hull City will be looking to pull off another Premier League scalp when they travel to the Etihad Stadium to take on Manchester City in Tuesday’s Capital One Cup clash.

The Tigers fell to their first defeat in 14 fixtures at home to Derby County on Saturday but are available at 11/1 (12.00) with Paddy Power to bounce back by pulling off their biggest upset yet.

Meanwhile, Manuel Pellegrini’s men secured their first victory in four by beating Southampton 3-1 at the weekend and are clear 1/4 (1.25) favourites to sail into the semi-finals by coming out on top here.

The visitors needed penalties to overcome Leicester in the last round, and you can get odds of 5/1 (6.00) on them holding their illustrious opponents to a draw after 90 minutes in this one.

While many top-flight clubs tend to use this competition to offer a run-out to fringe players and youngsters, Pellegrini takes it far more seriously.

Having won the competition in 2014 to earn his first major title in England, the Chilean can usually be relied upon to play as strong a team as possible as he strives to return the trophy to the Etihad.

Star-studded line-ups including the likes of Sergio Aguero and Kevin De Bruyne have already made short work of understrength Sunderland and Crystal Palace sides this campaign, totting up winning scorelines of 4-1 and 5-1, respectively.

This surely spells bad news for Steve Bruce, who benefitted from his opposite numbers’ decisions to rest key players in those wins over Swansea and Leicester.

Close to full strength, the hosts should be backed to continue the ruthless form that has seen them win the last six Capital One Cup games against lower league opposition by an aggregate scoreline of 24-2.

With 26 goals to their name in the last six home games in this competition, odds of 5/4 (2.25) look good on a prolific Manchester City ensuring at least four goals are scored when Hull come to town.
