2015-12-05 - Chelsea v Bournemouth

Chelsea managed back to back clean sheets so it remains to be seen if Jose Mourinho has solved his defensive problems. Now Jose Mourinho will aim to go unbeaten for the first time in three matches this season's Premier League when they host Bournemouth. The Cherries have managed two draws in their last two games, will they be able to make it three in a row?

Chelsea have gone unbeaten in their last two, something they haven’t managed since September. They managed to beat Norwich 1-0 and got a 0-0 draw against Tottenham is what they have to show for their efforts now. They are doing much better at the back and they were very well organised at White Hart Lane. But their attack is not where it used to be and they have scored just the one league goal in their last three Premier League games. Against Tottenham, Diego Costa was dropped for the first time this season with Eden Hazard preferred upfront. The players to watch will be Costa and Hazard in this match.

However, there is not much past meetings between the sides here. There are only four previous meetings with Chelsea winning three and lost one of them. All of the wins for Chelsea have come with a clean sheet as well but the last time they met was in the League Cup back in the 1994/95 season. The Blues are unbeaten in their last 43 league home games against newly promoted sides, winning 37 of those 43 too which is a pretty good record.

Meanwhile, Bournemouth despite losing key attacking players they have continued their positive approach to matches. They have drawn their last two games but a cause of concern is their defence. They were two goals up against both Swansea and Everton and ended up drawing those games 2-2 and 3-3 respectively. So they do have problems in defence which Chelsea can manipulate. Worringly, they have kept one clean sheet all season in the Premier League. It does not look good for them ahead of this match as they are currently on an eight match winless streak in the top flight, with just one point from their last five away games.

Take Chelsea and give the 1 1/4 ball here.
